BYD Battery-Box Combiner Box Plus CBH-70A
Connect 2 or 3 battery towers – compatible with BYD HVS, HVM, HVB, HVM+, HVS+ and HVE
The BYD Battery-Box Combiner Box Plus enables the simple and safe parallel connection of 2 or 3 BYD battery towers from the HVS, HVM, HVB, HVM+, HVS+ and HVE series via a single DC cable run to the inverter. Please note: only storage units of the same series and capacity (number of modules) may be connected in parallel. When retrofitting, ensure equal state of charge (SOC) across all towers and follow the installation procedures as described in the manual. The suitability of the planned configuration must be verified against the BYD Compatible Inverter List.
What's different about the Combiner Box Plus compared to its predecessor?
Compared to the previous Premium HVS/HVM Combiner Box (CBH-40A), the new Combiner Box Plus (CBH-70A) offers significantly higher current ratings: the maximum output current increases from 40 A to 70 A, and the maximum input current per battery tower from 35 A to 50 A. The housing is more compact and lighter. The protection rating has been upgraded from IP55 to IP65, the operating temperature range extends down to -20 °C, and the DC connections are MC4-compatible. Compatibility with the BYD Battery-Box HVE has also been added.
Alternative with DC circuit breakers: enwitec BATBREAKER
As an alternative to the BYD Combiner Box Plus, enwitec offers the BATBREAKER for HVM, HVM+ and HVB and the BATBREAKER for HVS+ and HVS – each with all-pole DC protection via user-serviceable circuit breakers with thermal and magnetic tripping instead of simple DC fuses. Please note: BATBREAKER variants are series-specific and cannot be combined.

Safety Instructions:
- Installation by qualified personnel: The installation of a PV storage system must only be carried out by qualified professionals.
- Ensure ventilation: Install the storage system in a well-ventilated area to ensure heat dissipation and prevent the risk of overheating.
- Observe fire safety regulations: Battery storage systems should be installed at a safe distance from flammable materials.
- Ensure accessibility: Install the storage system in an easily accessible location to allow for safe maintenance and emergency shutdown.
- Mechanical safety: Ensure that the battery storage system is securely fastened and protected against tipping.
- Danger from high voltages: Battery storage systems can generate dangerously high voltages. Avoid contact with exposed terminals or wires.
- Observe polarity: Ensure that the terminals are correctly polarized to avoid short circuits and damage.
- Suitable cables and fuses: Use only cables, connectors, and fuses recommended by the manufacturer.
- Grounding: Ensure that the battery and the entire PV system are properly grounded.
- Avoid short circuits: Keep tools, wires, or other conductive objects away from the battery terminals.
- Proper use: Use the battery only for its intended purpose and under the specified conditions.
- Proper disposal: Batteries contain environmentally hazardous substances and must be recycled or disposed of in accordance with applicable regulations for electronic waste.
- Danger from residual charge: Be aware that batteries can retain dangerous residual charges even after being switched off.
- No modifications: Unauthorized alterations, modifications, repairs, and opening of the product are prohibited.
