Notice: Suitable for three-phase grids where no neutral conductor separation is required. Use is permitted only after prior request and approval by the grid operator. The Fronius Backup Controller is a stationary switching unit that enables automatic transition to full backup mode and is designed for use in public grids with TN-C-S/TN-S systems. Its main function is to automatically and safely disconnect all connected consumers and generators from the public grid in the event of a grid outage or disturbance, in accordance with the grid operator's requirements. This solution ensures that the entire household is always safely supplied, as long as sufficient energy is available from the PV system or battery storage – even when no one is home. Once grid stability is restored, the consumers and generators are automatically reconnected to the public grid.
