Fronius Ohmpilot Eco Consumption Regulator 4,050,007

Fronius Ohmpilot Eco Consumption Regulator 4,050,007

Control heating elements with solar power – intelligent heat management for PV systems

The Fronius Ohmpilot Eco makes it easy to use excess PV energy for domestic hot water production: the load controller manages heating elements in boilers and buffer tanks in steps of up to 9 kW, increasing self-consumption and reducing grid costs for a more efficient PV system.

What are the special features of the new Fronius Ohmpilot Eco?

Via bidirectional communication, the Ohmpilot Eco exchanges real-time data with compatible heat pumps, enabling them to automatically adapt their control to the available PV surplus – for optimal heat pump regulation without manual intervention. In addition, the Ohmpilot Eco can also utilise energy from battery storage, closing the gap in the area of Power-to-Heat. All system data, including connected heat pumps, is centrally consolidated in the Fronius Solar.web App. Timer and boost modes also allow flexible control of hot water preparation, either via the app or directly on the device. With protection class IP65, the Ohmpilot Eco is also suitable for outdoor use. In single-phase operation, up to 3 heating elements with a max. of 3 kW, and in three-phase operation up to 2 heating elements with a max. of 9 kW can be operated.

What is the difference compared to the existing Fronius Ohmpilot?

Both devices control heating elements with solar power and utilise PV surplus for hot water preparation to increase self-consumption. However, the Ohmpilot Eco has been expanded with two key functions: bidirectional heat pump control based on real-time PV data, as well as battery storage integration (Power-to-Heat). The predecessor – the Fronius Ohmpilot – can only utilise pure PV surplus. This gap has now been closed with the new Ohmpilot Eco. Furthermore, its IP65 rating makes it suitable for outdoor installation.

Features:

  • Bidirectional communication with compatible heat pumps for automatic, surplus-based control
  • Seamless integration of heat pump data into Fronius Solar.web monitoring
  • Stepped heating element control in boilers and buffer tanks with up to 9 kW
  • Timer and boost modes for flexible hot water management – controllable via app or directly on the device
  • IP65 protection rating for outdoor installation

Manufacturer "Fronius International GmbH"
The Austrian company Fronius and its Solar Division have been developing energy solutions in the field of photovoltaics since 1992. Fronius offers a broad product portfolio of inverters, wallboxes and storage solutions with extensive monitoring and communication functions. These enable intelligent supply concepts, for example by integrating heat generation or electromobility. With the goal of “24 hours of sunshine”, Fronius is working every day to realize the vision of the future in which 100% of the world''s energy needs are covered by renewable energy sources. However, the high standards of the third-generation family-run company are not only reflected in its product portfolio: Technical support, sustainable research and production in Upper Austria as well as strong partnerships with certified solar installers, e.g. as part of the Fronius System Partner Program, are key components of the Fronius philosophy and make the Fronius brand one of the leading players in the photovoltaic sector.
