KOSTAL ENECTOR G2 AC 3.7/11 kW Wallbox

KOSTAL ENECTOR G2 AC 3.7/11 kW Wallbox

PV-optimised charging with solar power – EEBUS-ready, §14a-compliant, Made in Germany

The KOSTAL ENECTOR AC G2 is a compact AC wallbox for intelligent EV charging with photovoltaics – with up to 11 kW charging power (single- or three-phase) and a permanently attached 7.5 m Type 2 charging cable. It integrates e-mobility seamlessly into PV systems and enables charging with PV surplus in combination with the KOSTAL PLENTICORE G3 or the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter (KSEM). With integrated LAN, WLAN, RFID authorisation, automatic phase switching, EEBUS communication and §14a readiness, the KOSTAL ENECTOR G2 wallbox is significantly more capable and future-proof than its predecessor.

PV-optimised charging – four charging modes

In combination with the PLENTICORE G3 or the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter G2, four charging modes for automatic charging with PV surplus are available2): In Solar Pure Mode, the vehicle is charged exclusively with PV surplus. Solar Plus Mode combines PV surplus with a fixed minimum charging power from the grid. Power Mode charges at maximum power regardless of PV yield, and Lock Mode locks the wallbox completely. The charging modes can be switched manually at any time using the button directly on the wallbox – automatic PV-based control requires the PLENTICORE G3 with at minimum the KOSTAL Energy Meter P, or alternatively the KSEM G22). Control via the KOSTAL Solar App is also available. Automatic phase switching2) between single- and three-phase charging further optimises the use of available solar power. The current charging status is always visible via the colour LED status indicator; the amount of energy charged is displayed directly in the web interface.

PLENTICORE G3 and KSEM Integration

The KOSTAL ENECTOR G2 wallbox is fully integrated into the KOSTAL energy system. In combination with the PLENTICORE G3, charging control and visualisation can be handled directly via the inverter – at minimum the KOSTAL Energy Meter P is required for this. The KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter G2 (KSEM) is not strictly necessary, but additionally handles blackout protection2) (automatic reduction of charging current if the main fuse is at risk of overload), load balancing and extended charging mode control2). All charging data can also be visualised via the wallbox web interface, the KOSTAL Solar Portal or the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter, and exported in CSV format. The integrated web interface also provides user and RFID management as well as energy consumption display.

Note for PLENTICORE G2 users: In combination with the PLENTICORE G2, the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter is still required for PV-optimised charging modes. The activation codes previously required for comfort functions are no longer needed with the ENECTOR G2.

EEBUS, §14a and ISO 15118-20

The ENECTOR G2 is EEBUS-ready2) and prepared for §14a2) via the PLENTICORE G3 or KSEM – making it ready for grid-serving charging and future requirements for controllable consumption devices. Support for ISO 15118-20 (Plug & Charge – automatic vehicle identification and authentication without RFID) will be added via software update in 2027. The vehicle must also support ISO 15118-20.

Installation and hardware

The ENECTOR G2 is compact and quick to install – cable entry is flexible from the top, bottom or rear. The replaceable front cover allows individual customisation of the appearance. Additional safety is provided by a downgrade input for external charging current reduction and an external load shedding function with automatic shutdown in the event of a fault. The wallbox is suitable for indoor and outdoor installation (IP54, IK10).

What's new compared to the ENECTOR (G1)?

The G2 generation brings significant improvements over its predecessor: integrated LAN and WLAN, RFID authorisation, a web interface with CSV data export and direct PLENTICORE G3 integration are all new – direct inverter control of the wallbox was not possible with the predecessor. The PV-optimised charging modes Solar Pure and Solar Plus previously required the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter and separate activation codes; with the PLENTICORE G3, this is no longer necessary, and activation codes are no longer required at all with the ENECTOR G2. Power Mode is new, and automatic phase switching was also not available in the predecessor. EEBUS communication and §14a readiness are new additions. The fuse rating has been increased from C16 to MCB 20, and with load balancing and a downgrade input, the G2 offers additional safety functions not available in the predecessor.
