KOSTAL Energy Meter MP-P (KEM MP) single-phase
The smart metering solution for single-phase PV systems
The KOSTAL Energy Meter MP is KOSTAL’s new single-phase energy meter, specifically designed for photovoltaic systems with a single-phase grid connection. It is ideal for use in private households and stands out thanks to its easy installation, seamless system integration, and precise measurement of all relevant energy data. Whether for optimizing self-consumption, dynamic feed-in management, or as a basis for smart energy applications, the KEM MP reliably provides information on energy flow, grid consumption, and feed-in. In combination with KOSTAL inverters from the PLENTICORE MP series, it fully demonstrates its strengths: plug-and-play commissioning, automatic device detection, and high measurement accuracy. Thanks to its compact design, the Energy Meter MP can be installed quickly and space-efficiently on a DIN rail. Communication is handled via Modbus TCP over Ethernet, allowing easy integration into existing energy management systems as well as the KOSTAL Solar Portal.
Features:
- Single-phase measurement for small PV systems and single-phase grids
- Plug & Play thanks to automatic detection with KOSTAL inverters
- Direct compatibility with PLENTICORE G3, PLENTICORE MP, and other KOSTAL devices
- Real-time measurement of feed-in, grid consumption, and self-consumption

Safety Instructions:
1. Installation by Qualified Personnel: The installation of smart meters must only be carried out by qualified electricians or authorized professionals.2. Power Circuit Disconnection: Before installation, the power circuit into which the smart meter will be integrated must be completely disconnected and checked for powerlessness.
3. Ensure Proper Grounding: Verify the proper grounding of the system before connecting the smart meter.
4. Select Installation Location: Install the device only in a safe, well-ventilated, and dry indoor area that meets the manufacturer's installation requirements.
5. Correct Cable Connection: Use only manufacturer-recommended cables and connections, ensuring correct polarity and secure contacts.
6. Danger from High Voltages: Smart meters are integrated into power circuits that may be live. Avoid any contact with open connections or wires.
7. Use Proper Circuit Protection: Connect the smart meter only to power circuits with appropriate protective switches (e.g., residual current devices (RCDs) or circuit breakers).
8. Check Insulation: Inspect cable insulation and connection status before commissioning to avoid short circuits.
9. No Modifications: Do not alter or modify the smart meter or its wiring.
10. Avoid Overloading: Do not exceed the manufacturer's specified maximum current load for the smart meter.
11. No Unauthorized Modifications: Unauthorized alterations, modifications, repairs, or opening of the product are strictly prohibited.
