LONGi EcoLife 500 Wp HJT Back Contact Double Glass Solar Panel LR7-54HJD-500M
The LONGi EcoLife is a high-quality double glass solar panel of the latest generation, based on the world's first commercialised combination of Heterojunction technology (HJT) and back contact architecture. This enables an exceptionally high output of 500 watts and a module efficiency of up to 24.5 % – one of the highest values on the market for residential rooftop installations. Thanks to an optimised temperature coefficient of just −0.24 %/°C, the panel reliably maintains its output even in summer.
The panel is built with a robust double glass construction (glass-glass) – with a 2.0 mm front and a 1.6 mm rear pane of semi-tempered glass, additionally sealed with butyl rubber gaskets for even better water resistance and a longer module lifetime.
The LONGi EcoLife is explicitly designed as a premium solution for high-end residential buildings. With a 30-year product warranty and a 30-year linear performance warranty, as well as a guaranteed output of at least 88.85 % after 30 years, performance remains exceptionally stable throughout the entire service life. Mechanically, the panel withstands snow loads of up to 6,000 Pa and wind loads of up to 3,600 Pa.
What is HJT Back Contact Technology?
Heterojunction technology (HJT) uses ultra-thin amorphous silicon layers to achieve highly efficient electrical passivation of the cell. Combined with back contact architecture – where all electrical contacts are fully relocated to the rear side of the cell – this results in full-surface passivation from all angles, reducing metallic recombination losses to nearly zero. This combination was successfully implemented by LONGi for the first time worldwide in a commercial module, enabling open-circuit voltages exceeding 750 mV and up to 40 watts higher output compared to mainstream panels – on the same roof area.
What Does Anti-Shading Mean?
Thanks to its back contact architecture, the LONGi EcoLife benefits from optimised anti-shading behaviour. In conventional panels, partial shading of individual cells leads to disproportionate output losses across the entire string. The EcoLife's architecture reduces localised overheating (hotspots) and ensures that a greater share of panel output is preserved even under unfavourable light conditions – for example from chimneys, trees or neighbouring buildings.
