my-PV Immersion Heater 3 kW with Thermostat – Heating Element for AC•THOR and SOL•THOR
Purpose-built PV heating element for direct connection to my-PV power managers
The my-PV immersion heater 3 kW is a heating element developed specifically for use with the AC•THOR, the AC•THOR 9s and the SOL•THOR. It is screwed directly into fresh water or buffer tanks via the standard G 1½ inch thread. The connection to the power manager varies by device: on the AC•THOR, the included 2.8 m cable with Schuko plug is plugged directly into the device's Schuko socket. On the SOL•THOR and the AC•THOR 9s, connection is made via the screw terminals on the device. The special design with low thermal surface loading of the heating elements increases product service life and minimises scaling.
Application examples – number per device
Depending on the power manager, different numbers of immersion heaters can be used: the AC•THOR controls one 3 kW immersion heater steplessly – optionally, a second heating element can be switched via the switching output for temperature backup. The AC•THOR 9s can operate up to three 3 kW immersion heaters simultaneously – ideal for supplying large tanks or multiple heating zones. The SOL•THOR can control one or two 3 kW immersion heaters alternately – ideal for stratified charging with one heating element in the upper and one in the lower section of the tank.
Thermostat and temperature backup
The immersion heater features a manually adjustable bimetal thermostat with a target temperature range of approx. 34–78°C and an integrated safety temperature limiter (approx. 98°C). Stepless control of heating output from 0–3,000 W is handled by the connected power manager. For applications requiring higher target temperatures (e.g. buffer tanks above 90°C), the variant without thermostat with safety temperature limiter only is also available.
