SMA Backup Kit for Sunny Tripower Hybrid X BU-STPH-4P63K
Three-phase emergency and backup power solution for the distribution board – fully automatic, space-saving and black-start capable.
The SMA Backup Kit (BU-STPH-4P63K) is the space-saving emergency power solution for the SMA Sunny Tripower Hybrid X and enables fully automatic three-phase emergency power supply for the entire home or small commercial building in the event of a grid failure. With a maximum continuous current of 63 A, the entire home network is protected – without any manual intervention. The Backup Kit is mounted directly on the DIN rail in an existing distribution board – ideal for installations where everything should be housed compactly in one enclosure. In the event of a grid failure, it automatically takes over the emergency power supply. Thanks to its black-start capability, the system can restart independently even after extended grid outages. In grid-connected mode, the Backup Kit consumes virtually no power – in emergency power mode under 4 W. Up to 3 Sunny Tripower Hybrid X inverters can be operated in parallel, making this emergency power solution suitable for larger systems.
Backup Kit vs. Backup Box – what is the difference?
Both products enable the same function – fully automatic three-phase emergency power supply with the Sunny Tripower Hybrid X. The difference lies in the installation method: the Backup Kit is designed for DIN rail mounting in an existing distribution board – more space-saving and ideal for installations where everything should be housed in one enclosure. The Backup Box, on the other hand, is a compact, ready-to-install unit for wall mounting – ideal when no suitable distribution board is available or the emergency power component is to be installed separately. Both variants are functionally identical.
Features
- Fully automatic emergency power supply: Three-phase protection of the entire home network in the event of a grid failure – without manual intervention.
- 63 A continuous current: Sufficient for the entire home or small commercial building – all consumers remain available in emergency power mode.
- Black-start capable: The system can restart independently even after extended grid outages.
- Virtually no self-consumption: No power consumption in grid-connected mode, under 4 W in emergency power mode.
- DIN rail mounting: Direct mounting in existing distribution board – space-saving and easy to install.
- Parallel operation: Up to 3 Sunny Tripower Hybrid X inverters can be operated in parallel.
