Facade – Mounting Systems for Solar Installations
Facade-mounted solar systems make use of vertical building surfaces for power generation — ideal when the roof is not suitable or already in use. Vertically mounted modules have a better angle of incidence in winter with low-lying sun compared to roof installations, and are less susceptible to soiling. The K2 WallPV series offers four specialised variants depending on the substrate: the FacadeRail for solid masonry, concrete, and curtain wall facades (incl. ETICS), the CarrierRail for sandwich panels with general building authority approval, the MultiRail for trapezoidal and corrugated sheet metal facades, and the PerfoRail for concrete facades with existing thermal insulation. The SL Rack Energy Wall is a modular hybrid system in black anodised aluminium with pre-assembled insertion profiles, integrated equipotential bonding and water drainage — with general building authority approval (abZ) and a variable clamping range of 28–50 mm for virtually all common modules. The range is complemented by a facade mount from HSI for smaller wall installations.
