What is Trina Solar's i-TOPCon Cell Technology?
i-TOPCon stands for improved Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact and is Trina Solar's latest cell technology. In every solar cell, a portion of the generated energy is lost before it can be used – i-TOPCon minimises these losses through a highly precise surface treatment of the cell. This means more of the incoming light is directly converted into usable electricity. The result is an efficiency of up to 23.5 % and a noticeably higher power output per square metre – from both the front and the rear side of the bifacial module.
