The Trina Solar Vertex S+ G3 is the latest generation of the successful Vertex S+ series and represents a genuine technological leap. As a Full Black double glass solar panel, it is based on the advanced N-Type i-TOPCon Ultra technology with 150 cells and a completely gapless High-Density interconnection technology – for more power on the same roof area. With 470 watts peak output and a module efficiency of up to 23.5 %, the Vertex S+ G3 is one of the most powerful Full Black panels for residential and commercial rooftops on the market.

The fully black design – black cells, black frame, no visible cell gaps – integrates seamlessly and unobtrusively into any roof. At the same time, the robust glass-glass construction with 1.6 mm front and rear panes of heat strengthened glass ensures maximum longevity and protection against moisture, UV radiation and mechanical stress.

The G3 generation brings noticeable improvements over its predecessor: a reduced annual degradation of just 0.35 % (down from 0.4 %), an improved temperature coefficient of −0.26 %/°C and a guaranteed output of at least 88.85 % after 30 years. This is complemented by a significantly enhanced warranty: 25-year product warranty and 30-year performance warranty – Trina Solar's strongest warranty package for the Vertex S+ line to date.

What is i-TOPCon Ultra Technology?

i-TOPCon Ultra is Trina Solar's patented advancement of TOPCon cell technology – also referred to as TOPCon 2.0. Compared to standard TOPCon, i-TOPCon Ultra brings dual-passivated contacts, an integrated light trap for increased light absorption and an optimised fine-structure grid for higher yields under low irradiance conditions. In the G3 generation, the technology has been further refined – with reduced contact resistance, enhanced rear-side reflection and an optimised voltage-current ratio that lowers system costs.

What is High Density Interconnection?

The Vertex S+ G3 features a full-surface High-Density interconnection technology with 150 cells – more than the previous generation with 144 cells. The cells are arranged without visible gaps and are fully black – no cell gaps, no visible connection lines. This means: more active cell area on the same module size, higher output per square metre and a visually flawless, uniformly black appearance. Particularly for aesthetically demanding installations on visible rooftops, this is a decisive advantage.

What is Low-Voltage High-Current Architecture?

The Vertex S+ G3 uses a new Low-Voltage High-Current (LVHC) architecture – a cell configuration designed for lower voltage and higher current. Thanks to the higher current at lower voltage, longer module strings can be realised – meaning more modules in series per inverter input. This reduces wiring effort, lowers Balance-of-System costs (BoS) and enables more efficient use of available roof space. According to Trina Solar, this can reduce system costs and levelised cost of electricity (LCOE) by up to 6 %.
