KOSTAL Solar Electric stands for quality made in Germany. The company from Freiburg manufactures its products according to the highest technical and quality standards in Germany. Whether solar, hybrid, or battery inverters: KOSTAL’s product portfolio offers solutions for every need and system size. With individual power classes, both private PV system operators and businesses can find the right inverter for their photovoltaic project.
KOSTAL combines innovation and excellent quality in its products. This is confirmed by the numerous awards KOSTAL has received in various segments. For example, KOSTAL participated for the seventh consecutive time in the independent storage inspection by HTW Berlin and, for the first time, included its PLENTICORE plus G2 inverter (since 2023) in the assessment. The combination with the BYD HVS 12.8 battery storage achieved the impressive efficiency class A. Additionally, the PLENTICORE BI G2 10/26 paired with the BYD HVS 12.8 was awarded the best 3-phase AC storage system.
KOSTAL Solar, Hybrid, and Battery Inverters
KOSTAL’s hybrid inverters offer efficient PV energy generation and a wide range of options for storing the generated solar energy. The PIKO MP plus is designed for small systems. For more power, the PLENTICORE series is recommended, now in its third generation, and offers optional, unlockable power expansions. The PLENTICORE plus G2 with an optional unlockable battery input is still a popular choice. KOSTAL hybrid inverters are suitable for everything from residential homes to businesses and offer numerous application options – from direct self-consumption of solar power to charging electric vehicles.
Of course, hybrid inverters can also be used as pure solar inverters for converting DC to AC without an activated battery input. With a KOSTAL solar inverter, no additional components – apart from the optional KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter for home consumption measurement – need to be considered in the system design, as they are already integrated into all inverters. The wide compatibility also allows use in nearly any PV system.
Pure battery inverters are particularly worthwhile for system operators who already have a PV system and want to expand it with a storage system. They are simply connected in parallel to the PV system to the AC grid, with distribution enhanced by the KOSTAL Smart Energy Meter. From there, the intelligent control software takes over: the surplus solar power is used to charge the storage system automatically. If additional power demand arises, the storage is discharged accordingly. By using a PV storage system, self-consumption can be significantly increased, as the solar energy generated during the day can be stored and used in the evening when there is no sunlight.
